Building an open source project and getting a community.

Hi hackers.

As it stands, i am working towards a v0.0.1 that i want to then open publicly a tool i have been working on.

The issue i have is that the journey, i want to get some sort of information out for others to follow and in turn make a following and get others to learn how to use it as time progresses while building.

For open-source, is a newsletter still a good idea? (Hosting a simple application that i then use as a blog)

Wondering what others use at the start so you dont spend too time not getting dev work in but the least effort path to start off making traction and getting a following.
