Building an SEO-First Event Platform from scratch

Most event platforms focus on ticketing.

We’re taking a different approach.

We’re building Sochely, a platform where every event, activity, meetup, class, tour, and local experience becomes its own searchable page.

The long-term goal isn’t just to help people create events—it’s to build one of the largest searchable databases of real-world experiences on the web.

Think of the way Reddit grew through user-generated discussions or TripAdvisor through user-generated travel listings. We believe local events can follow a similar model.

Every new organizer creates content. Every new event expands the platform’s footprint in search. Every attendee has another opportunity to discover something happening nearby.

We’re still early, but we’re excited to see how this strategy compounds over time.

I’d love to hear from other founders building products around marketplaces, SEO, or user-generated content. What has worked for you? What challenges have you run into

The Reddit/TripAdvisor comparison is the right mental model the compounding only kicks in once you hit critical mass in one city before expanding. Curious if you’re going deep in one location first or launching broad?

The interesting part to me isn't the event platform itself—it's treating every new organizer as someone who expands the platform's discoverability, not just its inventory.

When user activity compounds into distribution instead of only adding content, the growth loop becomes much more interesting over time.
