Hey guys,
I'm considering building a niched-down website builder for "white collars" business categories and would love to hear your thoughts on whether it's a good idea or just a waste of time.
As a freelance Webflow developer with three years of experience, I've noticed that there's a huge segment of the market that isn't interested in spending thousands of dollars on a website.
Instead, they often resort to DIY solutions like Wix or Weebly, or at best, Squarespace, with the results we all know... very low quality, unprofessional, broken.
I've started to think about it talking with a friend of mine, who is a professional ghost-writer.
He has an horrible, broken website hosted on some unknown SaaS platform.
And he pays $15/month to this people, for that crappy website.
I just thought "I could do better".
Obviously this market is dominated by giant players, but I feel like there's still several market segment underserved.
What do you think?
Building another website builder in 2023 could work?
Hi,
It's great to see your focus on idea validation. A pragmatic strategy can really go a long way:
First, explore your prospective market. Understanding their needs and behaviors allows you to design a product that truly resonates with them. Next, a deep-dive into your competition can help you identify gaps that your idea can fill, setting you apart. Keeping tabs on industry trends can offer important insights and help your idea stay relevant. Lastly, embrace feedback as it's a crucial element of idea evolution.
Tools like ValidatorAI or CheckMyIdea-IA are designed to assist with this. They leverage AI to provide you with a comprehensive evaluation of your idea, offering actionable feedback. This can guide your decision-making process, ultimately saving you time and resources.
How do you compete vs Squarespace and Wix for attention? That is why I never went after the "white collar" market, they spend $100's per customer on ads.
I didn't know that, but in general, I just don't have the funds to go through the ads route.
I have several organic campaigns in mind.
The idea is to start with a single niche and expand to others slowly.
I've calculated that 20-30 new customers per month, initially, should be enough to get the ball rolling.
