Hey Indie Hackers!
I’ve been diving into small, search-focused niche projects lately, and one area that caught my eye is something almost everyone in Dubai uses every single day:
NOL Cards.
If you live in the UAE, you already know how essential they are — from paying for the metro and buses to parking and even taxis. Super simple system, but people still search for tons of basic questions around it.
What I Noticed
There’s high search demand for everyday queries like:
How do I check my NOL card balance?
Why is my NOL card not working?
How do I recharge online?
Can I check my balance without logging into RTA?
What do different error codes mean?
So I decided to build a small, hyper-focused content site that answers exactly these questions:
https://nolbalancecheck-ae.com/
Nothing fancy. Just clean, simple, useful information that solves real user problems.
I’m publishing guides, troubleshooting tips, balance check instructions, and step-by-step tutorials. Basically — all the answers people keep Googling but can’t find clearly explained.
Why I’m Doing This
A few reasons:
I want to see how far a super-specific niche can go.
Just one topic, one user intent, one purpose.
Everyone with a NOL card eventually needs to:
check balance
recharge
fix an error
understand usage
These are evergreen issues.
I want to learn how a tiny content site grows purely through helpful, intent-driven articles.
What I’d Love Feedback On
This is where the community comes in — I’d appreciate genuine thoughts:
Is this niche too narrow or perfectly targeted?
Micro-niches can dominate easily but may plateau — curious about your takes.
What topics would add the most value?
Thinking about adding:
fare calculator tools
NOL card comparison pages
troubleshooting checklists
FAQs for tourists
Has anyone here grown a tiny niche site into something real?
Would love to hear your stories, wins, or failures.
This is a fun experiment, and I’ll keep documenting my progress as traffic, keywords, and ranking evolve.
If anyone’s curious about results, I’m happy to share!
Cheers!
