Building CVBoosta — not sure what to focus on next

Hey IH,

I’m building CVBoosta — https://cvboosta.com

It helps people optimize resumes for ATS systems.

Right now:

- product is live

- getting some early users

- learning how people interact with it

But I’m unsure what to prioritize next:

1) improve product

2) push marketing

3) refine positioning

Would love to hear how you approached this stage.

It is such a massive letdown when you spend hours perfecting your resume only to have it disappear into an ATS black hole before a human even sees it. Most job seekers don't realize that even a great CV can be instantly rejected just because of a layout quirk or a missing keyword that the software isn't programmed to recognize.

Since you're at that "what's next" crossroads have you seen more engagement from people wanting a better score on their current resume or from those looking for the tool to actually rewrite the bullet points for them?

Appreciate this — you’ve described the exact pain point we built around.

From what we’re seeing so far, it’s not really one or the other — it’s a sequence.

      Most people come in thinking:
“Let me just check my score.”

Then they see the gaps — keywords missing, weak bullet points, low signal.

      That’s the moment it flips.

They don’t just want a score anymore — they want a fix.

      So behavior-wise it looks like:
→ Step 1: curiosity (score check)
      → Step 2: realization (why it’s low)
      → Step 3: action (rewrite + optimization)

If we had to prioritize: the real value is in rewriting.

The score gets them in the door.
The rewrite is what actually gets them interviews.

And honestly, that’s the shift most people don’t expect —
the problem isn’t that their experience is bad,
it’s that their CV doesn’t translate it into something ATS + recruiters understand.

That sequence makes perfect sense. It sounds like the score is just the hook while the "translation" is the actual product. You’ve basically moved from a simple tool to solving a communication gap which is a much stronger position.

Since you're seeing that "score-to-action" flip it might be time to lean into that authority. By the way I work in PR and media placements so I see this often. Shifting from a "utility" to an "authority" is usually what scales a product like this. Have you considered using those "before and after" wins to build that trust?

No, I haven’t explored that direction yet, but it’s a really interesting point.

Would be great to connect and discuss this further — feel free to reach out to me at email on our site

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.
