Building Enshort: a link shortener and QR code generator that tracks revenue, not just clicks

I've been building Enshort for a while now, and I'm finally at the point where I want to start sharing it and getting real feedback.

What it is: a URL shortener + QR code generator, but the focus is different from the usual Bitly-style tool. Instead of just click counts, Enshort connects to your ecommerce platform (WooCommerce, PrestaShop, and Shopify are all live) so you can see which short link actually drove a cart, an order, and how much revenue. You can also group links into campaigns or by influencer to track their combined performance.

Where I'm at: the MVP is done. That part was actually the easy bit. My real customer base right now is my own ecommerce store and some friends of mine. Everything else has been building in the dark: no public launch, no marketing, just product work.

Why I'm posting here: distribution is the hard part now, and specifically, finding my first real paying customer outside my own circle. Now, I would like to learn from people who have actually been through this than guess.

A few things I'm curious about from this community:

  • If you've built something in the ecommerce/analytics space, what actually got you your first outside customer?

  • Did you go all-in immediately, or did your side project earn its way to full-time?

Happy to answer anything about the product, the stack (Laravel, if anyone's curious), or anything else.

The revenue attribution angle seems much more consequential than link shortening itself. In your own store, has seeing which links actually produce orders changed where you spend or which campaigns you keep running, rather than just giving you another metric?

Yes, it's changed some real decisions. I use it mostly with YouTube influencer collaborations. Seeing the actual revenue a specific influencer's link generates is what decides whether I work with them again.

That’s a much stronger signal — the data is actually changing who you work with. If you’re open to it, what’s the best email to reach you on?

Thanks! I’ve just sent it over. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts whenever you have a chance.
