THE PROBLEM I'M SOLVING:

a zip file and hope for the best.

I've been building internet products for 20 years.

What's everyone's experience getting CPAs as distribution partners?
Hey Ludovic, welcome! Your track record with Digimmat and DrivinJapan is seriously impressive. Transitions from heavy manual tasks to AI-driven pre-accounting like Freenity makes total sense for the US/Canada market.
Regarding CPAs as distribution partners, I've noticed they are usually very protective of their workflow. Most of them hate the 'ZIP file' mess you mentioned but are also wary of new tools that might add more work for them. Since you are validating this week, have you checked if Freenity can export data in formats that directly plug into the software they already use (like QuickBooks or Xero)?
If you can prove to them that it saves their team hours of manual categorization, the 20% commission becomes a secondary benefit compared to the time saved. Looking forward to seeing how the CPA outreach goes!

Thank you so much for this. You're absolutely right. Indeed CPAs are very protective of their workflow. What we've already validated is that the real time savings come from automating the upstream layer transaction processing, invoice matching, and bank reconciliation. That part is working well.
Where we're currently focusing is exactly what you mentioned the output format. Getting the exported documents to plug directly into QuickBooks or Xero without any manual reformatting.
We're also targeting entrepreneurs directly. People who just want to stop losing weekends to their books and reduce back-and-forth with their accountant to a minimum.
