Building in Public: Jan 3 - Jan 7
Hey IndieHackers,
For the new year, I committed to building in public and sharing what I worked on more frequently. So, I'm going to post weekly updates on what I accomplished, learned, etc. Here it goes.
I got a lot done this past week for Komonitor, my website monitoring and alerting service:
- I shipped a Slack integration so now users can send alerts directly to the Slack channel of their choice.
- Got my first few users to sign up 🎉
- Started implemented weekly email reports to keep users up to date on their websites' performance.
On top of that, I redid my blog from scratch to learn Tailwind CSS and set up a repository for a new project I am working on, a job board (not very unique, I know).
Next week, I'll be adding annual subscription plan options for Komonitor and completed the weekly email report feature :).

Found my first users through posting here on IndieHackers and Twitter! Still working out a more concrete marketing plan.
This space is very crowded with big players like UptimeRobot that have a lot more features and integrations so I am playing catch-up on some of them. Those tools tend to be bloated with features targeted more towards dev ops engineers and people that know how to code. I want to build Komonitor for a broader audience.
