Today we're heads down on two features that might sound small but are actually central to everything we're trying to build.
🏆 Achievement Badges — recognition that means something
We're building a badge system that lives on every builder profile and user profile on IndieAIs.
Not participation trophies. Not "you signed up" confetti. Real recognition for real behavior that the community actually values.
Here's the kind of badges we're building toward:
For Builders:
→ First Listing — you shipped something and put it in front of the world
→ Community Favorite — your tool hit a meaningful upvote threshold
→ Trending — your tool reached the trending page
→ Comparison Winner — your tool was chosen in head-to-head comparisons

For Users:
→ First Upvote — you cast your first vote and moved the needle for a builder
→ Connector — you used Open To Connect and made something happen

→ Scout — you discovered and engaged with tools before they trended
These badges will sit on profiles permanently. They travel with you. They tell your story on IndieAIs without you having to say a word.
📝 Builder Bios — your story in your own words
Right now builder profiles on IndieAIs show your tools, your stats and your activity. That's useful. But it doesn't tell anyone who you are, what drives you, or what you're looking for.
Builder Bios fix that.
A dedicated space on every builder profile where you can tell your story. Where you're building from. What problem you're obsessed with. What you've shipped before. What you're looking for — a collaborator, a co-founder, early users, feedback, investment.
When someone lands on your profile and sees your bio alongside your badges and your tools, they don't just see a listing. They see a person. That's the difference between a directory and a community.

Why we're building this now
Badges and bios might seem like polish. They're not.
They're the infrastructure of trust.
When a VC lands on the Investor Ready page and clicks through to a builder profile, what they see in the next 30 seconds determines whether they reach out or move on. When a builder finds someone through Builder Networking, the bio is the first thing that tells them whether the connection is worth pursuing.
We're building recognition systems that compound over time. The builders who show up consistently, engage genuinely and build in public on IndieAIs will have profiles that tell that story automatically.
That's worth building deliberately.
