Hey IH,
This my week 2 update on my commit to building in public:
Komonitor updates:
- I added annually billed subscriptions. These are an obvious feature for a lot of SaaS these days and Komonitor is no different. More predictable revenue and longer customer commits are always better.
- I did a major UI refactor related to creating monitors and alerts. I noticed alerts were not being created along with monitors because that was in a separate form. This is a bad UX and consolidated monitor and alert creation into a single form page.
- I'm deciding to put the majority of my development efforts into making uptime monitoring extremely good instead of trying to develop Google Lighthouse monitors and other features in parallel. Pivoting to doing one thing very well is a better than spreading myself too thin.
On top of that, I've been spending more time being active on Twitter and am seeing a slow but consistent increase in followers/engagement.
Next week, I'll continue to work on Komonitor and develop a more targeting marketing strategy for acquiring users. Most page views have come from the IH community which is awesome, but I need more specific targeting to convert pageviews to sign ups.
