Hey Indie Hackers!
I wanted to share a side project I’ve been working on for a while called JobHustler. It started as a personal experiment to make job applications less painful, but over the last few months, it’s grown into something I’m actually proud of.
The main feature I just launched is a resume-tailoring tool with what I call an “employer lens.” It scores your resume like a hiring manager would and gives feedback so it’s optimized for ATS systems. On top of that, it can generate cover letters based on the job description, and you can tweak the tone—confident, casual, conversational, whatever fits your style.
My goal isn’t just automation; it’s helping people make their applications feel personal and polished without spending hours rewriting everything. Everyone gets one free use every 4 days, and you don’t need to sign up to try it.
I’d love feedback from anyone who’s job hunting or just curious about AI tools for productivity. If you’re interested, DM me, and I’ll send you the link. I’m especially curious about:
How accurate or helpful the resume scoring feels
Whether the cover letter generator produces something you’d actually send
Any other ideas to make the tool more useful
Building something like this solo has been a learning experience—balancing features, AI outputs, and usability is tricky—but seeing people actually use it and give feedback is super motivating.
Thanks for reading, and again if you’re interested in testing it, DM me, and I’ll get you set up!
Offering one free use every 4 days without signup is a clever way to reduce friction. Curious - are most users converting after trying it once ?
