Hey everyone! 👋
Like many of you, I noticed that with thousands of new AI tools launching every week, finding what's actually reliable, checking pricing limits, and seeing real feature differences has become overwhelming.
To solve this, I built NeedAITool (https://www.needaitool.com) — an open AI tool discovery and side-by-side comparison directory indexing over 6,800+ actively maintained tools across 14 categories.
Key things we focused on:
1. Side-by-side comparison matrices: Deep technical breakdowns, API access, and free-tier limits.
2. Zero dead links: Automated health checks to weed out abandoned projects.
3. llms.txt integration: Built with structured markdown so AI agents can query the directory natively.
Would love to get feedback from fellow indie hackers on the UI, search ergonomics, and features you'd like to see next!
