Building Nudge — a re-engagement tool for small businesses | Pre-build update

Hi IH community — starting to document my build journey here.

• What I'm building:

Nudge usenudge.io — a micro-SaaS that helps small businesses automatically re-engage lapsed customers. Upload a contact list, set a lapse threshold, get personalised re-engagement emails sent automatically.

• Why this problem:

I spent 3 weeks doing discovery calls before writing any code. Every single business owner I spoke to — salons, yoga studios, freelancers — said the same thing: "I know I should follow up with past customers. I just never get around to it." The barrier isn't motivation. It's the absence of a system.

• Market context:

50M+ small businesses globally. 73% of SMB owners cite "lack of time" as the
reason they don't do customer follow-up. Re-engaging a warm customer costs 5-25x less than acquiring a new one.

• What I'm not building:

Another email marketing platform. Mailchimp has 30 features nobody
uses. This is one feature, done extremely well.

• Target pricing:

$19/month Pro. Free tier for validation. No credit card required.

• Timeline:

MVP in 60 days. Public launch at day 60.
