Hey IH folks π
Iβm currently building Palette Box, a Chrome Extension designed for designers & frontend developers β it lets you easily extract color palettes from any webpage.
This is actually my first time building and launching a Chrome Extension π β and itβs been an interesting learning curve (Manifest v3, permissions, store approval, pricing modelβ¦ lots to figure out).
The reason I started this project:
π I kept running into this problem when browsing the web β Iβd find a beautiful site and think βwow, these colors are great,β but there was no easy way to grab and reuse them.
π Screenshots and eyedroppers worked, but not very efficiently.
So I built Palette Box to streamline that:
β
Drag-select any part of a webpage
β
Instantly extract dominant colors
β
Save as presets (with names & sorting)
β
Export as JSON or share encrypted codes
β
Import presets for reuse β works great for dev & design handoff
Right now itβs live on the Chrome Web Store:

π Free version available + $2/month premium for extra features π
This is still 100% a solo build β and Iβm sharing my process here in public to learn and improve.
Would love to get feedback from anyone who:
has built a Chrome Extension
or has tips on marketing one
or sees other use cases for a tool like this!
