Three months ago, I was standing in my kitchen at 7 PM, staring into a full fridge, completely paralyzed by the "what's for dinner?" question. Sound familiar?
I had:
Half a bag of spinach (getting wilted)
Some chicken thighs
Random spices I couldn't remember buying
The usual suspects: onions, garlic, etc.
But my brain? Completely blank. I ended up ordering eating out while perfectly good ingredients sat unused.
That night, I realized this wasn't just my problem. 73% of households face this daily. We waste massive amounts of food annually not because we can't cook, but because we can't connect what we have to what we can make.
Most recipe apps assume you have specific ingredients. But real kitchens are chaos:
That recipe calls for "fresh thyme" → I have dried oregano
It needs "2 lbs ground beef" → I have 1.3 lbs of chicken
"28oz can of tomatoes" → I have a half-used jar of pasta sauce
What if instead of finding recipes for ingredients you don't have, you found recipes for ingredients you DO have?
My website is still in progress as I'm focusing on wrapping up the iOS app first.
