Building Software Businesses for an AI Future

Agents won't kill SaaS, they'll use it

The important shift is that agents probably won’t replace software businesses.

    They’ll compress the interface layer.

The actual systems of record, infrastructure, orchestration, permissions, compliance, billing, and operational logic still need durable software underneath.

Which means a lot of SaaS companies may slowly stop looking like “apps” and start looking more like invisible operating infrastructure for agents.

That transition also changes what kinds of company names age well.

A lot of current AI brands feel temporary because they’re optimized around the model moment, not long-term infrastructure positioning.

Exirra.com and Davoq.com feel much closer to where this category is heading than most “AI-tool” naming patterns right now.

The winners probably won’t look like chatbots forever.
