This story is about Karan Bhakuni. He is the co-founder of Poper - more than a popup builder.
Inspired by user feedback from a previous project, Karan identified a gap in website visitor engagement, which sparked the idea for Poper - a tool for building AI-powered popups that convert site visitors into customers.
In early 2024, Karan and his co-founder launched Poper, debuting a simple MVP after just three days of development. By using LinkedIn and subreddits, they built a waitlist of over 630 interested users before the official launch in April.
Despite an initial low conversion rate, the team refined their approach, focusing on user conversion and targeted marketing strategies.
Poper's growth journey included valuable lessons from ad spending and a successful AppSumo launch. With over 950 users, including 250 paid subscribers, the company now sees monthly recurring revenue (MRR) between $2.5k-$3K.
