Building TarotGuide as a solo maker creating useful AI tools for personal guidance

As a solo developer focused on AI products, I’ve been thinking a lot about how AI can be used in ways that feel more personal, approachable, and genuinely useful.

That’s one of the reasons I built TarotGuide.

A lot of people turn to tarot when they feel uncertain about love, career, relationships, or major life decisions. But many online tarot experiences still feel fragmented: some are too static, some are hard for beginners to understand, and some don’t really let users go deeper into their questions.

I wanted to build something more practical and more interactive.

TarotGuide is designed to let users ask a question, choose a spread, draw cards, and get instant AI-powered guidance in a simple flow. It supports both quick readings like one-card and daily tarot, as well as deeper formats for love, career, soulmate questions, yes/no guidance, and more. I also introduced two different AI tarot readers with different focuses, so the experience feels a bit more tailored depending on the kind of question someone is exploring.

What I care about most as an indie maker is building AI tools that do more than just generate content. I want to create products that reduce friction, help people feel supported, and make complex experiences easier to access. In the case of TarotGuide, that means making tarot feel less intimidating, more interactive, and more useful for modern users.

I’m still improving the product, refining the experience, and learning from how people actually use it. My broader goal is to keep building AI tools that meet real human needs — whether that’s creativity, reflection, decision-making, or guidance.
