When I started building PayrollTool, I wasn't trying to build the next HR software.
I was trying to solve my own frustration.
Every month I found myself repeating the same manual payroll calculations:
LOP deductions
Salary proration
PF ECR preparation
Full & Final Settlement
The calculations weren't difficult.
They were repetitive.
So instead of creating another spreadsheet, I started building small browser-based tools that I could reuse.
Fast forward to today, PayrollTool has:
✅ LOP Splitter
✅ Salary Proration Calculator
✅ PF ECR Creator
✅ Final Settlement Calculator
Everything runs locally in the browser.
No login.
No employee data stored.
I'm still a solo builder with a full-time payroll job, so most features get built on weekends.
My goal isn't to compete with HRMS platforms.
I simply want to save payroll professionals a few hours every month.
If you're building alongside a full-time job, I'd love to hear your story too.
Building from firsthand payroll pain is usually where useful tools come from.
I’m curious what you’ve learned from early users so far — are people mainly using these as standalone calculators, or are they becoming part of a larger payroll workflow for them?
Thanks, Aryan! That’s actually the gap I’m trying to understand and solve.
Most HRMS/HCM platforms handle the core payroll workflow well, but there are still plenty of small, repetitive calculations and utilities that sit outside the system.
PayrollTool is being built around those gaps - simple tools that payroll professionals can use when the HRMS doesn’t quite cover a specific need.
Still early, but that’s the direction I’m exploring.
