Building TymzUp After Frustration With Existing Time Tracking Tools

I started building TymzUp because I couldn’t find a time tracking solution that really fit the needs of my consulting work.

Most products felt like one of two extremes:

  • bloated enterprise software built for massive organizations

  • overly simplistic apps that broke down once projects and reporting became more complex

I wanted something that balanced:

  • simple daily time tracking

  • project and task organization

  • billable hour visibility

  • lightweight reporting

  • fast onboarding for small teams

The product is still evolving, but it’s already been a huge learning experience beyond just software development.

Current stack:

  • ASP.NET Core

  • Azure SQL

  • Azure App Services

  • Stripe

  • Azure Functions

Right now I’m focused on:

  • improving onboarding

  • building educational content/resources

  • simplifying reporting workflows

  • growing organically through SEO instead of paid ads

Would love feedback from other founders building B2B SaaS products:

  • how did you approach your first real users?

  • what acquisition channels worked best early on?

  • what product decisions did you later regret?
