Building up SEO for the first time

There is a ton to learn about SEO and building traffic. I have learned a little about it in the last couple of years through trial and error so I thought I would write up a basic post to help those just getting started.

TLDR;

• Backlinks matter
• Keyword research can make all the difference (find long tail keywords)
• Building out your site and formatting your posts for your long tail keywords is a must. (Page URL, Title tag, Page meta description, Post title <H1>, Subheads <H2>, <H3>, First paragraph, Image alt tags)
