I've been working on an Android app called Zellia for the past few months, and I'd love some honest feedback from this
community.
The idea came from watching my grandparents struggle. My grandmother has three different pill bottles, a paper notebook
for blood pressure readings, and my mom calls her every morning to check. It's not sustainable, and my grandmother hates
feeling like a burden.
Zellia is a family health and care app designed for older adults and their caregivers. Key features so far:
• Large-button UI – no squinting, no tiny tap targets
• Medication reminders – simple, persistent, doesn't get dismissed accidentally
• Blood pressure & glucose logging – with trends you can actually see
• Family collaboration – multiple caregivers can stay in sync
• Weekly PDF summaries – ready to hand to the doctor during visits
What I'm NOT doing:
It's live on Google Play now — Zellia – Family Health &
Care.
I'm looking for early testers and brutal feedback – what's missing, what's wrong, what would you do differently?
Happy to share what I've learned about Android dev, Google Play compliance for health apps, or building senior-friendly
UIs.
I like that you're framing the problem around dignity instead of just health tracking.
The feature list matters, but what stood out was your grandmother not wanting to feel like a burden. Helping families stay informed while allowing older adults to maintain their independence feels like a much more meaningful outcome than simply tracking medications or blood pressure.
Thanks, this is actually the part I'm thinking about the most.
A lot of health apps unintentionally make older adults feel like they are being monitored.
The goal with Zellia is more about helping families stay connected while letting seniors keep independence.
I'm still figuring out where the balance is.
Interesting.
Your reply made me think less about the features themselves and more about what the product quietly commits itself to once it starts balancing independence with reassurance.
I don't think I can explain that line of reasoning properly in a thread without oversimplifying it.
If you're interested, what's the best email to reach you on?
Absolutely, I’d love to hear your thoughts.

I’m still trying to understand the right balance between giving families reassurance and making sure the older adult doesn’t feel monitored or judged. It sounds like you’re thinking about exactly the part I don’t want to oversimplify.
Thanks again for taking the time.
Thanks! I’ve just sent it over.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts whenever you have a chance.
