I've been frustrated with personal finance apps since Mint shut down. Nothing handled my situation well — personal accounts, business accounts, and investments all mixed together across multiple institutions.
So I spent a few evenings building my own.
Stack: Next.js, Express, Plaid for bank connections. No AI, just a straightforward dashboard.
The main thing I focused on that nothing else does:
- Tag accounts as personal or business on first login
- Everything splits automatically from there
- One screen shows cash position, net worth, runway, and a health status
- Personal vs business spend comparison over time
Posted in r/mintuit this morning mostly to see if anyone else had the same problem. Got 2 signups within the first hour without really trying.
Still very early — no auth yet, waitlist only. But the signal was enough to keep building.

Two questions for the IH community:
1. Would you pay $9-12/mo for operational financial awareness vs a budgeting app?
2. What would make you actually switch from whatever you're using now?
