Hey Justin. I would say aside from the "does it solve a problem that is not already solved by Google", the landing page is missing a few key elements.

    1. A working demo. You should have an embed or a link out to a live example.
    2. Price - will this cost me anything?

On the product front I think the problems you are trying to solve for are already being solved.

    • Google has basic info (address, opening times, social links)
    • A business website has more in-depth info (sales, product links etc)

I would say for this to work the SEO of each byz.ee/company-name page would have to be awesome i.e. better than Google AND company-name.com. Otherwise it would just be an undiscoverable and therefore unneeded snapshot of the company website.

Thanks for the response! I'm curious, did you notice that the phone embed on the right side of the hero is scrollable? I'm wondering if that discoverability is not obvious enough. A fully working demo would surely be better though I agree.

I agree that Google and the actual website would beat my site in SEO and be less discoverable through search. But this is really meant to be a link-in-bio tool like Linktree, so it would be hit directly from the businesses social media profiles. Small businesses like this are linking to their store hours, and like this are linking to their Google map directions. I wanted to make that experience better and surface all that info to a profile "snapshot" like you said, while still providing all the standard Linktree-like link in bio tools letting the business owner add all their sales and landing page links in one place.

As for price I'm also going to follow the Linktree models of free to use but can upgrade to "Pro" for more advanced features. But since those features aren't there yet I just left it out, but I should add something about it at least thanks!

Hmm that does make sense but seems niche. I can see why ads aren’t making much of an impact.

Maybe you can reach out to some businesses personally?

They can give you accurate feedback and if they use your services, other people will notice.

      2. 1

Didn't notice that the phone embed on the right is scrollable. Was missing the bar so assumed it was a photo.

I think your landing page is actually pretty good with a clear message, a clear call to action, and overall easy on the eye; I actually like it quite a lot!

Have you done any customer discovery interviews with local business owners (preferably in person)? Maybe by observing how they push for online presence you'll gain a clearer understanding of how to effectively approach your correct customer segment. Try figuring out if the local business owners usually manage online presence personally or do they usually hire someone to do it for them? If so, are the people in charge of managing online presence motivated to integrate some means of a solution to the problem your providing a solution to? How do they currently work around the problem if they're not already incorporate some sort of a solution?...

At some point customer discovery interviews can turn into sales pitch, but ideally not before you gain a clear understanding of the problem domain you're solving and identify who are actually involved in the process.

Best of luck to you and your endeavor!!

If you're targeting businesses you really need to explain how this is going to make them more money. Be super explicit.

I'd also suggest one tiny change that could make a world of difference. I saw 3 places language referring to the fact that it's not yet done. "coming soon", "when it's ready", "when we're launching". To me this is a very very very weak call to action. In fact I almost put my email address in and didn't because there was no urgency. I literally thought "oh well when it's launched I'll find out"

Here's one way you can 100% get more signups:

make the email form a "Secure Your Username now"
    username:
    email:

You'll get tons and tons and tons of signups.

What kind of traffic have you produced?

Conversion rates can be low. Even good rates are 5% or 1/20 visitors.

    1. 1

Not a lot of traffic so far, about 100, with 0 conversions.

      1. 2

Yea, that's not significant enough to understand how your LP is performing.

You may want to try something that doesn't scale. Like reaching out directly to folk you think might be interested.

As others have said, the best way to do this is to target these companies directly.

I wouldn't use linkedin -- that's not where these businesses exist/are spending time online.

Instead, focus on Instagram. DM companies who don't use link tree, but could.
Create a byz.ee page for them. Get them to use it.

Do this for 10-100 customers. Don't charge them.

Then, start targeting similar customers, but don't create the page for them. Send them links of other companies (in their area/in their vertical) and show them what byz.ee looks like for those companies -- even better if you can share some results with them ("xyz is getting 30 clicks a day after only 2 weeks"). Start charging for it.

You could probably do this for google ads as well, but you'll need to work on your targeting or else your CAC will be way too high.

I think this has a viral potential if people include the links in their email or other communications and when people see the info they also see a link to get their own from you. That's just something automatic that will help you grow. You need to target SMBs with this so go where they are on whatever channels - face book groups etc. and toss it out there. This thing should do something, not sure about the pay version possibilities but one thing at a time. You might want to describe what problem it immediately solves (aspirin) but since its more like a vitamin, say something about how beneficial it is once you start using it. In this case a few testimonials (which you dont really have yet) will be a big help "Now all I do is X and instantly Z happens!" coupled with (aspirin) "I never have to worry that people have old contact info thats inaccurate!". DO NOT be put off at all at this point. I do agree though that the name and the domain need work. how about fullcontact.com ? contactlink.com? Something that says what it is - your's says "busy" but it's not descriptive of what you offer.

  7. 1

Where did you share this? Your landing page had a very good impression on me ('this could be your webpage' was the key) and gave me an idea of your services.

What you now need is imho is to find an audience that wants your services. Toward that end, I suggest starting a blog relating to businesses, benefits of an online presence etc. Have quality articles and SEO will slowly but surely help you gain traction (and do try other marketing strategies as well, I'm no expert in this btw). I wish you all the very best luck, pls don't give up. Make haste slowly.

  8. 1

How do people save this? Do they have to save each thing one at a time? Or can they save the "contact" or something easily?

  9. 1

This is a good idea. Usually business profiles are embedded deep down in a website, and it takes effort to put together everything.

But the approach can be different. Instead of waiting for business owners to sign up on a landing page, have you considered generating these links for lots and lots of businesses, then reaching out to them to use it, with instructions on how to add to their domain (and charge)?

It is a well known fact that a small percentage of leads (roughly 1 in 10) will convert. You can then estimate how many profiles you have to generate and cold email this way to get how many users. You might find a certain type of business converts better, and focus on them for a better conversion. If it works rinse and repeat.

In case you need to launch the SaaS fast, please check out our profile as well.

hey, what tools did you use to create this landing page?

  11. 1

Maybe you should try to market this as "digital business card".
The target audience could be freelancers, real-estate agents, etc. I think it is less likely to be used by businesses, because, as stated here by others, they already have their website and google-my-business.

But if you make this an easy-to-share link that those people can send in their email-signature, as qr-code, in whatsapp or messenger chat, etc, maybe it'd work better.

Try to make people that use physical business cards today (there are many people who do) envision how this digital business card can make their life better and even help them grow their business.
The main problem with physical business cards is that people just throw them or don't find them when they really need it. Show your audience how your product can fix that problem.
In addition, their business card will now also get SEO traffic and can be shared by their customers on social networks.

The product is the same, only the message is different. E.g.
    "Your digital business card"
"Make your business card start working for you"
"Share your digital business card so your customers will find you when they need you"

Also on the demo page, try using a freelancer's data. Show a card of real estate agent.
Maybe you can even make the demo in a carousel so you can show multiple use-cases: designers, plumbers, real-estate agent, cars salesman, etc.
If you do that, you can also make the main title swap together with the demo:
    "Digital business card for ______"

Pro version could be custom-domain or specific widgets. But I'd start with focus to find your audience before worrying about monetizing.

The site looks great, BTW. Simple and clean, and the product is clear. Pricing is missing. If you don't know it yet maybe say that it's free, and just put any number on the pro version, even if it doesn't exist.

One last thing - the domain is not great. .ee is not something that people trust. It's the country domain of Estonia. Try getting a global domain.

    Good luck.

I don't really understand why this is better than just searching for the company on Google. With Google I get all of the info you have on your landing page already, like maps, hours etc.

    1. 1

Do you see the value in a service like Linktr.ee? This would provide the same value as well as all well as the added value of your business information so that you can link to it from social media profiles instead of just forcing your users to google it. It's not meant to replace a businesses website, or anyone searching for the business on Google, it's meant to replace link-in-bio services like Linktree for businesses.

      1. 1

I see what you're saying now. This seems like it could work best for small boutique stores. But why wouldn't a business want to link to their own website instead of having an intermediary like yours?

        1. 1

I think intermediary sites like this and like Linktree are great because you let the user choose where in your site, or external sites, they'd like to drop into. If you link directly to your site you need to choose one page (homepage, sales page, etc.) that you can link to but with this service you can drop them all in there and as users click through they get to choose.

For example, this is an example Linktree uses of a small business page (it's just an image, it looks like that customer took their page down). That business would be an ideal customer for me. They link to their website, as well as multiple different internal pages, but then they also link to their hours and location. I think it would be a better experience for users if the hours, location, contact details, etc. were surfaced outside of the link saving the users some clicks and making your business look more professional, while still providing the benefits of letting you link to wherever you need to like that example does.

          1. 1

Makes sense now. So why are you using Google Ads? You need to find these customers directly and reach out to them. Use LinkedIn Sales Navigator, use something like AnyMailFinder to find the emails of the target customers, and email them asking to get on a call. Make a list of 100 potential customers and start reaching out. Google Ads is not what you need right now in the very initial stage that you're in, you need to do direct outreach.

            1. 1

That makes sense. The reason I started with Google ads was because in previous ventures I was able to get the first users by direct outreach but then when I tried to start scaling using ads I found that it wasn’t successful. So this time I thought I’d I start with ads and not only validate the product but also validate the if ads are a viable acquisition method. But I think I’m jumping the gun and should just get direct customer insights for now.

  13. 1

you can check your traffics if it is going well..

  14. 1

Can you share some data bout how much traffic you're getting?

  15. 1

    Justin,

I've done some marketing exercises in getting the word out to small 1-2 person businesses (particularly Realtors, Attorneys, Financial Planners) about a SaaS product I'm building called ContactLink.

I'd enjoy having a video call, I can share some of the things I've tried and hear your view of the market and how to reach them profitably.

Book a time with me at https://contactlink.to/jesse.hercules and let's talk soon.

  16. 1

Hey Justin, are you sure that it’s the landing page not converting? Or are you just not getting enough traffic?

How many unique visitors are you getting, and what’s the bounce rate?

  17. 1

To me, this looks like the business info integrated into Google maps? What do you do differently?

  18. 1

How did you get the idea to build this tool Justin? Presumably you ran into someone having some sort of problem. Have you spoken to those people who were having that problem? This is maybe a more sensible starting place than PPC ads, in my humble opinion.

  19. 1

Not sure if the idea is no good, the landing page is no good, or just haven’t found the right audience. But I’ve been running ads for a week now without a single sign up.

    1. 2

Hey Justin, just my opinion but ads are a terrible way to validate a product. It's difficult to get direct user feedback. And it's a waste of money. You want to find people who have the problem that your product solves and just talk to them.

    2. 2

Sorry to hear that. I know how it feels to have money burning on ads, but no responses. Early on I tried to follow the advice of Google AdWords experts, only to discover that the cost was now so high, that it would cost $20k+ just to run one split-test experiment they way they taught. needless to say, I couldn't afford to spend that much...

Anyway, I had a quick look at your landing page, and my first thought was: why would I link to a byzee profile instead of straight to my website? All the info on the profile page is on my website already (or could be added).

If you can answer the question above, and provide a compelling reason why someone would want a byzee profile page, then your (updated) landing page might start getting signups.

      1. 1

        Thanks for the response.

Anyway, I had a quick look at your landing page, and my first thought was: why would I link to a byzee profile instead of straight to my website? All the info on the profile page is on my website already (or could be added).

That's a good point. Byzee is meant to target business users (likely small business) who area already using sites like linktr.ee in their social media profiles to link out to more than just their website (or at least link to multiple pages in their website). If you don't know, linktr.ee lets you lets you link to a bunch of different places from one link in your social media bio bypassing the "one link in bio" rule. I found tools like that weren't the best solution for small businesses though, for example this linktree has someone linking to their store hours, this linktree has a link to the stores Google map directions, as well as linking to their website and any other important links. I thought it would be beneficial to surface all of that important business info (hours, directions, contact info, etc.) right to the front of you Byzee profile as well as allow people the typical Linktree style link collection page.
