Built a Side Project That Got 120 Signups from One Reddit Comment

Last weekend, I built a small side project to solve a problem I kept running into while working on websites.

Schema markup is great for SEO, but creating and maintaining JSON-LD for different page types can be surprisingly tedious. Articles, products, FAQs, local businesses—each one has its own structure, and manually writing the code gets old fast.

So I built a tool that simplifies the process. You describe your page or business, and it generates the appropriate schema markup without having to dig through documentation or templates.

I honestly wasn't sure if anyone else had this problem, so I casually mentioned it in a Reddit discussion. To my surprise, it brought in around 120 signups in just three days.

The biggest takeaway for me wasn't the numbers—it was realizing that small, boring problems are often worth solving. You don't always need a revolutionary startup idea. Sometimes making an annoying task easier is enough to find an audience.

I'm still improving the project based on feedback and figuring out what features people actually need.

Has anyone else here built a niche tool that unexpectedly gained traction? I'd love to hear what worked for you and how you validated your idea.
