Built a Simple Core Web Vitals Tool After Getting Frustrated with Slow Audits

A few months ago, I was helping a client improve their site's performance and realized I was spending more time jumping between tools than actually fixing problems.

Most reports would tell me a score, but not clearly explain why the page was slow or which issue would have the biggest impact.

That frustration led me to start using a workflow focused on Core Web Vitals, waterfall analysis, and render-blocking resources in one place. It helped me spot things like oversized images, third-party scripts, and font-loading issues much faster.

One thing I've learned is that improving performance usually isn't about one big fix. It's often a collection of small improvements that add up over time.

For anyone building websites or SaaS products, how much attention do you pay to Core Web Vitals? Have you seen a noticeable impact on rankings, conversions, or user engagement after improving them?

Nice launch! Focusing on actionable fixes rather than just scores is smart agencies drown in data. Did you build the Lighthouse automation yourself or use an existing library?
