Built a text-based AI learning app for non-techies. Could I get feedback on the app's clarity?

Hey everyone, I'm the solo founder of craftql. I'm building it for busy professionals and non-technical folks who feel behind on AI but don't have time for long video courses.

The courses are 100% text-based and interactive, designed to teach practical AI skills in 5 minutes a day.

My biggest challenge is making sure the '100% text-based' value prop sounds like a benefit (fast, efficient, respect for your time) and not a weakness (no videos, boring).

I would be incredibly grateful for feedback on three specific questions:
When you land on craftql.com, how long does it take you to understand exactly what it does and who it's for?

Is the headline, 'Learn AI 5 minutes a day,' compelling? Does it sound achievable or like a gimmick?

Does the page effectively sell you on the idea of text-based learning? Is the benefit clear?

Are you able to easily login and access the courses ?
I'll be here all day to answer questions and take notes. Thanks in advance for your time and honest feedback.

    Hi,

I’m specialized in CRO (Conversion Rate Optimization), which is the art of improving conversions on the web.

Right now, I’m offering completely free support for landing pages. Basically, I’ll audit your landing page and give you clear recommendations, both short- and long-term, to help boost your conversions, all based on research and proven methods.

I provide this service for free under these conditions:

    1. you apply my recommendations,
    2. you give me feedback,
    3. you leave a review if you think it deserves it,
    4. your page has more than 4,000 visitors per month.

Feel free to reach out if you’d like my help, or if you know someone who might benefit from it. Thanks for your time, and have a great day.

Hi @Beezy_Alex, this is awesome feedback thank you. I have recently made some changes to the website and incorporated some of the feedback I got here. If anybody has some time, I'd like further feedback. Thanks.

Gonna answer your questions one by one in the original order :)

    1. Took me 10 sec to understand what you are doing -- this bit you nailed 100% -- however, it is not precisely clear how the goal is achieved (i.e. text based learning) but it is already cause I was already hooked to go and read further about your product

    2. I personally do not like such headlines as 'Learn AI 5 minutes a day' -- i am quite averse to products that see easy solutions to complicated problems. And also any headline that says "just do this simple trick 5 min a day!!..." sounds scammy to me

    3. I really liked images that really visualize the product, but i think it would be cool to clearly state the core idea -- i.e., 100% text-based

    Hope this helps!

    Here are some thoughts.

When you land on craftql.com, how long does it take you to understand exactly what it does and who it's for?

I agree with @Faridat that you need to use wording more specific than Learn AI, although I don't think you need to focus on a specific use case. That's an excellent strategy for targeted campaigns where you can create multiple pages, but not for a home page.

Where I think you need to clarify is from a general sense. It's not immediately clear whether you're teaching people how to use AI platforms like ChatGPT or build AI into their products or website. Then the specific use cases should be highlighted further down the page. I would tie them to the courses/modules and tell people specifically what they'll learn/be able to do upon completion.

Is the headline, 'Learn AI 5 minutes a day,' compelling? Does it sound achievable or like a gimmick?

No, I don't know that learning AI in five minutes a day is believable. I like that it's specific and quick and easy is a compelling message, but it's easy to be skeptical about 5 minutes, especially if people will be performing hands-on actions in addition to reading.

Does the page effectively sell you on the idea of text-based learning? Is the benefit clear?

I do think that the benefit is clear, but I think the more compelling and convincing aspect of that is the interactive nature rather than it being text-based.

And here are some additional observations/suggestions:

    • You should make the CTAs stand out more. That first button in the hero section in particular is hard to read and easy to ignore.
    • I would offer a bit of a preview of the courses/modules to get people exciting about what they will learn and be able to do.
    • "Start for Free" is OK, but you could make it even stronger by adding immediacy and or urgency. For example, you could try something like "Choose your first lesson now" or something similar.

Hope that helps. Best of luck.

Hi Doyin, I love the page and how it's interactive. It also has great design and flow, but the challenge I noticed as a conversion copywriter is that "Learn AI” is too broad and vague.

AI means different things to different people. It’s unclear what kind of skills you're teaching or what transformation someone will experience.

People won't just want to learn AI. AI is a means to a specific outcome.

They want to learn AI so they can:

    • Automate repetitive tasks

    • Write emails, posts, and reports faster

    • Analyse data without needing a data team

    • Build smarter products or features

    • Save hours each week with AI tools

    • Create better customer experiences

    • Prototype ideas quickly without coding

    • Make better business decisions using AI insights

    • Stay competitive in their field or industry

The page also doesn't specify who it's for based on the above use cases.

To improve clarity, I’d focus the message on specific use cases or outcomes. That way, people know exactly how it helps them and can take action.
