Hey IH folks,
I’ve been working on a small side project to solve a personal pain: sticking to habits and staying accountable when working solo.
The result so far is an MVP dashboard with:
✅ Add tasks & track them easily
🤖 AI suggestions for the first step (so you don’t get stuck)
🔥 Streaks to keep motivation alive
🏆 A leaderboard (light gamification for extra push)
⏱️ Timers for focused work sessions
👯 Partner system for accountability
The onboarding works smoothly now, and early tests feel promising — but I want to see if this really clicks for others.
What I’d love feedback on:
Do these features sound motivating or overwhelming?
Would you actually use a leaderboard / streak mechanic, or is accountability enough?
If you were testing it today, what’s the one thing that would make you stick with it?
I’m happy to share the link if anyone’s interested in trying it out.
Thanks IH, always love how direct and thoughtful this community is 🙏
Really digging the structure of this MVP — the mix of AI nudges + gamified accountability is smart. A couple things I’d highlight from similar habit/productivity tools:
1️⃣ Leaderboard vs. Streaks – Often streaks are more sticky than leaderboards. Leaderboards motivate externally, but for solo users or small partner groups, they can feel intimidating. Maybe add an opt-in toggle for competitive features.
2️⃣ AI First Step Suggestions – Huge potential here. Early “frictionless start” moments often determine whether someone sticks or drops off. Consider layering micro-feedback after completion — e.g., “Nice, you finished Step 1, here’s Step 2” — keeps momentum without cognitive overload.
3️⃣ Timers & Focus – Pairing streaks with timers can create a natural dopamine loop for habit formation. Even subtle haptics or visual progress cues amplify stickiness.
Curious — have you experimented with letting users customize their streak/leaderboard intensity? Early personalization often boosts long-term retention.
Thanks a ton for the feedback, really appreciate you breaking it down. Totally agree that streaks feel more natural motivation, so we’re making leaderboards an opt-in thing. Love your idea of layering in micro-feedback on the AI first step — that’s exactly the kind of thing that could keep momentum going without adding pressure. And on your question: we haven’t tried customizable streak/leaderboard intensity yet, but it’s definitely on our list since personalization is what Flovia’s all about.
