Who doesn't have accounting? (well, I guess accountants, maybe).
I hate it. I despise it. I lose track of everything.
However, I needed a way to keep track of my P&L, revenue, expenses, payroll, etc.
At https://lowcode.agency, we use Mercury Bank as our only bank. All our money movements pass through Mercury.
And then, I saw that Mercury has an integration with Zapier!
Time to build.
1.- Connect Mercury to Zapier.
1.1.- We want the trigger to be any new transaction (so we catch both incoming and outgoing money movements).
2.- Connect the zap to a Google Sheet.
2.1.- The action is to create a new row.
3.- open Glideapps and start a new app. IF you plan to use your own custom app in a desktop mostly vs your phone, select "page" instead of "app".
4.- Connect your google sheet (where the Mercury data is coming in) to the selected app. (NOTE: You don't have to do this, since at the bottom you can copy the free template. You'll just replace the google sheet)
After seeing how the data is coming in, I added a little bit of logic and format:

We map everything to its right screen/tab, and end up with a pretty nice, custom, personal app to keep track of your transactions, add notes, categories, and more! check out the gif here
Do you want the free template? Here you go! https://mercury-template.glideapp.io
Copy the template to Glide.
Then to steps 1-2.1, use your app's google sheet as the destination sheet for the zaps, and that's it.

Cheers!
We use Mercury - What is the advantage to having a spreadsheet? Mercury has a download transactions to csv. And https://www.budgetsheet.net/ does a good job.
