Built GHOST: Anonymous expression platform - looking for brutally honest feedback

THE ASK

I built an anonymous expression platform called GHOST and need honest feedback from fellow builders. Try it, break it, tell me if it's solving a real problem or if I'm building in a bubble.

Test it here: https://catharsis-20-14871.bubbleapps.io/version-test/

Key Questions:

  • Does anonymous expression without social consequences appeal to you?
  • Is the user experience clear?
  • Would you actually use this?

WHAT I BUILT

GHOST lets users share writing completely anonymously - stories, thoughts, advice, longer works. No profiles, no followers, no engagement metrics. You drop something, it joins the platform in all its infinity, and it disappears you.

THE JOURNEY

I'm a non-technical founder who built this entirely on Bubble. Started with a simple observation: people self-censor online constantly. We all have thoughts, stories, or wisdom we'd share if reputation wasn't at risk.

Spent months iterating on the core experience. The platform strips away everything social about sharing - just pure expression and discovery.

WHY THIS MATTERS

Social media optimizes for engagement, not authenticity. Writers hold back. Readers get performative content. There's a gap between what people actually think and what they're willing to publish under their name.

CURRENT STATUS

MVP 1.0, about to start user testing. Built entirely no-code, which proved that non-technical founders can ship real products.

Bottom line: Does anonymous expression solve a problem you have? Brutal honesty appreciated.

    from technical/ui side:

    • im missing option to mark as read so i dont see it again (or actually what ive read/seen, that would be lighter on db i suppose)
    • cant reset password :D
    • i do miss some kind of tags page, or new posts/daily page

from concept view/execution side on anonymous part:

    1. what will you do if you get notice i.e. if someone states opinion that would get law enforcement involved? would such platform be hosted in some offshore place or it wont be anonymous to that point?

    2. i'd made email optional, just like on hackernews, you can register with login and password, you just loose ability to reset password (for this you could probably use some auth code someone can write down and use for reset)

Thanks, Tommy! You make some excellent points.

      • I figured at scale the changes of someone seeing the same post again is minimal - almost creates that serendipity feel of seeing something once, and never again (but never say never!)
      • Good call on not being able to reset password. It's fixed!
      • Good note. I shall think on this as the READ page is the new posts/daily page.

Interesting concept. I like how stripped away followers. I am curious how. do you plan to handle spammy content if it is fully anonymous.

i think a small llm (something like llama or qwen) would handle that easily

      An excellent observation.

There is no plan only for the reason that it isn't the thing that needs solving yet. What needs solving is engaging a critical # of users to test the efficacy of the anonymous expression theory.

You ask a great question. What are you building?

I am building a system for indie hacker to land their first 10 customer. I personally use system to track feedback follow ups.
