Built GhostSVG – a prompt-to-illustration tool for devs, designers, and indie builders

Hey Indie Hackers! 👋

Just wanted to share something I’ve been building: GhostSVG, a tool that generates clean illustrations from text prompts — designed for devs, designers, and indie founders who want quick visuals for landing pages, docs, decks, or apps.

After building a few SaaS MVPs and internal tools, I kept running into the same issue:
• I needed a fast, lightweight illustration that looked decent
• Stock sites felt generic or off-brand
• AI tools like DALL·E takes too much luck or time to generate a decent one.
• And I don’t always want to jump into Figma or Illustrator just to make a hero image 😅

So I built GhostSVG — something I wish I had years ago.

⚡ What makes it different?

🧠 Prompt-based: Just describe what you want — e.g. minimal line-art of a SaaS dashboard
📦 Actual SVG markup: Clean, inspectable, and scalable
🎯 Style presets: Line art, flat art, sketch, cartoon-style
🧼 Background-removed SVGs
📤 Export options: SVG, PNG, JPG — ready for slides, sites, or docs

🛠️ Built with:
• Next.js
• Tailwind CSS
• AI image generation via Fal API

🔗 Try it here: https://ghostsvg.com/

🎁 I’m also giving away 25 free credits for feedback — just email [email protected] with subject IH25.

Would love your thoughts:
• Would this help you speed up shipping?
• What would make it more useful for your use case?
• What’s missing or confusing?

Thanks for reading! I’m happy to return feedback or collaborate on projects with a visual angle 🙌
