In my newsletter Fake Mayo I share weekly stories (interviews) of how founders got their first customers.

Rodrigo Rocco, based in Mallorca, Spain, discovered his passion for coding at age 12. After studying Computer Systems Engineering with a focus on C++, he dropped out to pursue hands-on work. In 2008, following extensive travel, Rodrigo returned to web development. His first big break came when a Barcelona real estate firm hired him after spotting his email in the footer of a free NGO website he built.
Over the years, Rodrigo launched several projects. However, his main focus is JobBoardSearch, a growing directory of 500+ niche job boards.
Launched in 2022 in just five hours, JobBoardSearch has since made $60K and seen over 850K page views. Rodrigo monetizes through listing upgrades, sponsored slots, and link-building services. His growth strategy is entirely organic—powered by a subreddit (12.5K+ members), a newsletter (13K+ subscribers), and a Telegram bot (7K+ users), all managed with his custom-built bots.

Bringing these job boards all together seems so simple, yet no one else ever thought about it - Why?
Wild that something launched in 5 hours can create so much impact.
I’m going the opposite route — building a dark, immersive RPG site to help people reshape their habits. Definitely not fast, but hopefully meaningful.
Curious: how did Rodrigo prioritize features on day one?
Yes - I think he's a pretty talented entrepreneurs. I don't know how he initially came up with the MVP version though. If you wan't to learn more you could reach out to him on X

When building an startup you don't prioritize anything. Just release with 1 or 2 features, not more, and let customers gives you feedback on that features and future ones.
Great idea, we forget the boring and simple things we use and do every day. No need to overcomplicate and come up with a crazy product. Keeping it simple.
Brilliant idea!
As a recruiter for many years who started coding recently, I have to say I'm a big fan of this idea. Already for years, the market has been flooded by job boards worldwide. Very handy tool this!
