Built my first real product for my dad — a lead finder for medical device sales reps

My dad is a sales head at a medical device company that makes
AI-powered eye screening devices. His biggest problem: he travels
all over India doing cold walk-ins with no way to know which
hospitals or clinics are worth visiting first.

So I built MedLeads — a web app where he enters a city and device
category and instantly gets a ranked list of hospitals, eye clinics,
NICUs and diabetes centers with phone numbers, websites, ratings and
directions.

No more blind cold calls. HIGH/MEDIUM/LOW priority scoring based on
specialty match. Visit tracker with notes and follow-up status. CSV export.

First real user: my dad, starting tomorrow.

Biggest lesson so far: the fastest path to a real product is
building for someone you can talk to every day.

What would you add to make this more useful for field sales reps?

Building it for your dad first was probably the biggest advantage. You'll get feedback from someone using it in the real world instead of guessing. I'd pay close attention to which leads he skips and why—that'll probably teach you more about your scoring model than any dataset.
