Built my first web app (Discover global food)

Stumbled across this awesome reddit post of a user requesting popular dishes from various countries from around the world.

Someone then built a google doc with the entire list. I thought it would be cool to take it a step further, while learning web development.

This is The Plate Passport. There's over 900 dishes from over 200 countries. You can currently filter on continent and country.

Data input is still in progress. I'm looking to add a photo and single recipe url for all 900+ dishes and then add other filterable characteristics like complexity, spice, time, main ingredient, etc.

Already I think it's such a cool way to learn about other cuisines from other countries. I have so many ideas for where this could go. I'd love to make it easier for others to cook dishes from other countries. There's so many challenges when it comes to that. I'd love to be able to tackle some with this:

• Preventing using a spice/ingredient once
• Helping pair similar country cuisines (ie. these countries generally cook with these ingredients and these spices. try them together)
• Which ingredients are commonly found in grocery stores vs. which ones are specialty

There's so much wonderful, cultural information in that reddit post. I'd love to bring that comment like idea to this app as well to help inspire and share ideas.
