Hey Indie Hackers,
I’ve been working on a side project for the last few months: an AI-first job management system aimed at solo tradies and micro teams in Australia (plumbers, electricians, builders, insulators, etc.).
The big vision is a simple, mobile-first tool that handles quoting, invoicing, expenses, job tracking and payments — all without forcing tradies into yet another heavy desktop app.
Phase 1 is now live: a dead-simple WhatsApp bot.
How it works:
You message the bot with job details (or even send a photo of a receipt/quote note)
It instantly creates a clean ATO-compliant quote or tax invoice PDF with Stripe pay link
It can also log expenses straight from a photo (receipt scanning)
Everything stays inside WhatsApp — no app to download, no login, no forms
I originally built it for my Friend who runs a small insulation/ceiling business in Melbourne because he was losing too much time on admin. It’s now working well enough that I’m opening it up for feedback from other builders and indie hackers.
If you’re a tradie (or know one) and want to kick the tyres:
→ Just click this link and say hi:
https://api.whatsapp.com/send/?phone=61478455885&text&type=phone_number&app_absent=0
OR just whatsapp at +61478455885
It will reply with a quick “Hello! I’m your business assistant…” and you can start testing right away.
I’d love brutally honest feedback:
Does the flow feel useful on a real job site?
What’s missing or annoying?
Would you actually pay for this once it grows into a full job management system?
No sales pitch — just building in public and looking for early real-user input before I pour more time into phase 2.
Would really appreciate any thoughts or test drives. Thanks in advance!
Cheers,
