A few weeks ago, my wife and I were preparing to announce the gender of our first baby — a huge moment for us.
But there was a problem: her parents live far away and couldn’t be with us in person. It hurt to think they'd miss out on this special day.
So I decided to build something.
🧑💻 I’m a developer, so I created a simple tool that lets someone (like a doctor or close friend) input the gender privately, generates a reveal link with a countdown, and on the big day — boom — everyone sees the reveal at the same time. Even if they’re on the other side of the world.
We used it ourselves. And when the timer hit zero, everyone — both in the room and on video — saw the color reveal together. There were tears. Laughter. Shock. It was one of the most emotional moments of our lives.
After sharing it in a few parenting groups, other couples started using it too. That’s when I realized this could help more families.
🎉 Now it’s live as a small paid product:
RevealTogether.com — to create your own private gender reveal.
It's not some big startup. Just a tool built with love for a once-in-a-lifetime memory.
Curious to hear your thoughts.
Would you have used something like this for your own reveal?
