💡 Built UptimeBuddy — a simple way to get API downtime alerts instantly
Hey IH,
I’ve been working on a small side project called UptimeBuddy.
It’s basically a lightweight uptime monitor for your APIs — simple setup, instant alerts, no heavy dashboards.
The motivation came from too many nights of shipping something, going to sleep, and finding out in the morning that things were broken hours ago. Most tools I tried felt either overkill or too barebones. So I built something that just does the essential thing well.
I’m curious — for those of you running APIs or SaaS, how do you handle uptime monitoring right now?

Love the simplicity! Does UptimeBuddy support multiple notification channels (email, Slack, etc.), or just email for now

Right now alerts work via email (super simple to start). I’m working on adding Slack and maybe Discord next, since I know a lot of dev teams live there. Quiet hours aren’t in yet, but I really like that idea — hadn’t thought of it, but makes a lot of sense. I’ll add it to the roadmap. Thanks for the suggestion!
