Business Partner / Thinker

Hi,

I am Alex, 100% technical person. I believe that good startup founders couple is Thinker+Doer. The first one is more responsible for the vision, pitching the product, while second one makes sure it's implemented and has technical integrity.

I am looking for the first one. Recently I started new project - https://facest.io, we can continue here if it makes sense or start something completely new.

Looking forward!

Hey, I am interested. could we have a chat?

    1. 1

Absolutely! At what timezone you're? I am +2 and will be available tomorrow after 6-7PM, if that's ok.

      1. 1

I am +1. Yes, that time suits me

        1. 1

Hangouts/Zoom? do you know where I can send you this info?

          1. 1

Hey, I got an appointment around 5. Not sure if I will be able to make it in time. ramon.sicre@gmail.com

Btw, I'v going through the site and thinking of applications. Since the market already has big players offering facial recognition it would be easier to market an application using your technology. Do you think it would be possible to create an application to decrease theft in retail? The app could detect from a database if a shoplifter has entered the premises.
              What do you think?

One more product I imagine is "barista assistant", an app on barista's iPad which "remembers" the customers and later can tell what this customer usually orders, as well as tracking some discounts, etc. maybe you can even pay with your face

              2. 1

That would be possible yes. It can be a branch application. using Facest.io. API as a core, probably a separate. product even. We can have multiple apps later but we can start with detecting a theft for now.

Hey Alex- if you're looking for a non-technical founder who can help you with sales/go to market strategy, we should chat further! Feel free to connect with me on Linkedin! www.linkedin.com/in/racheljrew

Hey Alex, this looks great - I’ve actually used similar software for a previous startup. I’m also looking to partner up, check out my post too and let me know if you’re up for a chat

    Hi Alex,

I like it, I want in. Not a thinker but a visual guy, I would love to work with you and partner up to take this to the next level!

I have just checked the website and the logo, and I think we can improve on a few things.

Hit me up on LinkedIn, Twitter or email.

    Best,

    Sebastian

    Curious, what's your main problem?

    • You created a product but don't have a valid use case yet?
    • Need someone to take the reigns in business growth i.e. partnerships, sales, etc.
    1. 1

      All correct,

I have use cases in mind.

Also, need to work on sales materials, contacting potential clients, building better pitch, etc.

    Happy to chat

Do you know if we can do this in IH or we should use separate channel?

      1. 1

My Twitter and email are on my profile. Otherwise let me know.

I like your product, would you say your biggest competitors are private companies like facex.io and also products like AWS, GCS, and Azure where they provide facial recognition APIs?

    1. 2

Correct, there are few products already. I am still thinking about unique proposition, and this could be:

      • Custom on-prem solution, so you keep your data
      • Pre-built projects, so you can grab them and use: Home assistant, coffee shop assistant, etc. using API in its core
      1. 1

Awesome. Those are both valid differentiators. Do you have early customers? Are these developers/startups that are building solutions for home assistance, coffee shop reward programs, and offices?
Great stuff, and best of luck! Would love to see this as an open startup and get updates on your progress.

        1. 1

Not yet :) Working on this

  9. 1

Curious what some use-cases are for your service?

    1. 1

Maybe I can make a list somewhere, but from what I can tell they can be:

      1. Smart assistants in the office, which is an iPad which knows who you are and can open a door for example
      2. Integrated into coffee shops, so. baristas can see that you're a regular customers and what do you usually order, etc.
      3. Home assistants, which can tell you who is knocking on the door.

      There could be more.

      1. 1

Makes more sense, might be worth adding those to the website to help people understand the benefits. What’s the best approach to training the algorithm to begin with, how many images does it need before it starts recognising them with a high level of confidence?
