Buying a mattress drove me mad

Hi everyone!

I'm Riz and I recently spent about a month or so searching for a mattress that was right for me. It was painful.

I came across multiple companies selling mattresses built using their patented mattress technologies and mattress review sites that seemed to be compromised (think mattresses written by 'expert' reviewers and blunting critique to get that tasty affiliate revenue from mattress companies).

I realised that there's no transparency in the market for buyers like me. Many mattress models aren't sold on Amazon, so I couldn't use Amazon's user-generated reviews as a data-point to help me make a decision on what mattress would be right for me.

As a result, I've decided to build a mattress review website to help consumers like me to make a more informed decision.

I am fully aware of the limitations of consumer-generated reviews (e.g. 'what if that mattress was right for the reviewer but won't be for me?'), but I think they serve as a useful data-point in the decision making process.

So for instance, if you research a mattress and discover that it is perfect for your height, sleeping style etc etc, and then come across a collection of reviews that mention the mattress collapsed after x months, you might be more cautious before buying it.
