Anyone have any successful sales strategies they have implemented on LinkedIn?
It looks like an excellent tool for marketing and sales — I just don't want to be "that guy" that slides into your LinkedIn inbox with a cheesy cold email.
Has anyone any success with this platform? If so, how?
It's one of the best tools because your "prospects" are full of information. You know the size of the company (it's not the same selling a 10 people than a 500 people company), you have the industry, updated role, the whole picture of the company roles, etc.
Search for "cold emailing" best practices, and start sending emails one by one. Iterate over your messages, measure the open and reply rates, etc.
You can use SalesQL.com to find the emails for free.
Best of luck!
great tool. I've tried lots of them and I'm really satisfied with salesql
That's great to hear! thanks, let me know if you need anything or if you come to Madrid :)
Cold emails suck on LinkedIn. I usually accept anyone as a contact on LinkedIn, about 5-10% just end up sending a cold email straight away. I normally disconnect with them afterwards.
I have success in the sense of hanging out there, posting content, having a group, being helpful to others, etc.
Much of the content I post links back to my stuff (testing related). And over the years I've just connected with software testers because they are the people I serve. It's pretty easy to find them as it's in their job title.
People who connect with me are usually interested in the things I'm doing and I'm not shy about sharing things we are launching or support we are looking for.
Sometimes I reach out to people, more out of wanting to genuinely start a conversation and I try to talk about them as much as possible.
As with most things, too often people want quick results and end up sending crappy sales messages straight away. Don't do that. See it as a long term investment, who do you want in your network?
Hey Mark. I assume you'd love this book: https://getleado.com/linkedin-b2b-content-marketing/
Also, LinkedIn’s publisher is awesome and is a great way to provide value and make relevant contacts while promoting your content and brand to a wide audience.
Focus on building relationships with people first and foremost. Honestly, with everyone sending spammy emails from the first message you can stand out by NOT trying to sell something and instead connect with the human behind the job title.
Find common ground, connect with them and offer them some value to start with (article, link, video), build the relationships, ask questions and the sales come later. Patience.
I heard, rumor only that linkedin was hacked. All contacts are for sale. What this does is sets up spam. And linkedin will take action to fight it. Be prepared for marketing difficulties going forward.
I tried using LinkedIn with inMail to communicate about my side project but it just stopped sending InMails and never sent them again even after raising prices 2 times. No error message, no feedback, nothing. It just does not work for me.
