We need to check this one out. I've heard of this one but we've never listened to it.
How do your kids typically listen to podcasts?
We have a Bluetooth speaker in their room
They just started to, because we have a weekly 3.5 hour round trip to make, and I’ve been testing Magnus Rush (my podcast app/platform) in the car. I found a small handful of good youthful podcasts to listen to. They were riveted. I was too as a kid, to long form story audio. It’s cool because we all experience it together.

But Why, Alien Adventures of Finn Caspian, Wow in the World, and Radio Adventures of Dr Floyd.
There weren't too many others out there to check out!
Both my 5 and 7 enjoy the "Wow in the world" NPR podcast
My kids love stories in the car. We get a lot of audio books. They even want to sit in the car longer after we stopped.
Cool, I'll have to check that one out @jlogic. How do they usually listen? If it's in the car do you play it over the car audio system or do they have headphones?

No. Their attention spans are terrible.
😂😂 been there @geetfun. In general I’ve had the same experience. Car rides and winding down late in the day are the two scenarios it’s worked.
No, but I would like them to. Probably on car journeys. It's been a while since I searched for kids podcasts, so I don't really know what is out there.
Thanks for the reply @rosiesherry, I was talking to another parent at work yesterday and both of our kids enjoy them in the car or when they're winding down before bed.
I'm trying to understand how common it is for kids to listen to podcasts. We guard screen time pretty aggressively and it's been a good alternative for us.
In case you want a recommendation But Why is the de facto favorite for my 3 and 6 year old.
No podcasts here, but maybe "But Why" will change that. Same thing here on screen time. Problem with podcasts is they still require access to a screen. Is that a problem? Maybe Echo/Google Home is the answer?
@BrettC that’s exactly the challenge we face with the device. We tracked down an old school iPod shuffle as a solution. Updating it is a bit of a headache (plug-in and sync with iTunes) but it eliminates the screen piece. Smart speakers are a cool angle.

Yeah, I'm getting increasingly guarded with screen time too. We're still pretty flexible tbh, but I'm always looking for and prefer non screen type activities.
Have subscribed to But Why, was learning about Elephants earlier in the car. Thought I'd give my boy a break from listening to @csallen :D
@rosiesherry maybe you have it right all along and I should cycle in a @csallen episode every now and then. Start them early!
