Hi! I'm the CEO of a media-edtech company focused on making fun educational programming for early career diverse talent. I'm excited about how much time people can earn back from using AI (and time is our greatest resources so I think this is why AI isn't all hype)
I built an AI this weekend and already using it for my main startup to make revenue (and for this line of work a good profit).

I used Adalo to build the base concept in 3-5 hours. From there I shared it with my co-founder and he told me to expand it so we hired an assistant to use it for our core work (developing learning content for clients) and we've already seen about a 100x boost in productivity and our net profit margin is floating around 100% (plus we easily see how to increase it).
Our line work was started mid last year and has led to $100,000 (non-recurring) of work so far. Recently we started getting partnerships around this line work which caused us to hit a capacity issue. We were using other AIs, but over time our hands started hurting from all the copying and pasting. We knew there was a better way.
In short the AI I built over the weekend is helping us make ~$60/hr up to 40 hours per week while our assistant uses it.
Now we're hoping to launch something in early Q3!

I'm going to keep this kinda broad because of how quickly people hop on new AI spaces :) Essentially there was a manual task we were replacing with ChatGPT however we got tired of copying pasting (actually our hands started hurting this is how much we were using ChatGPT and copying it into Google Docs). I built an AI that took the manual processes we had like 5 people doing and made it so that 1-2 people could do the work of about 6-8 people using the new AI app. It contributed to our profit margins by minimizing the number of people involved in the pipeline, saving us 100s of hours of time (especially when dealing with multiple projects), made it so that we could hire a VA manage the data input/output on the app's front-end (lowering admin fees), and we can no-code and test new features in like 2-4 hours which has led to lowered development/maintenance costs for our pipeline.
I use AI everywhere (literally everywhere) the other day I was talking with ChatGPT how to cook, I use it for emails/texts/marketing/sales/grants/legal/etc,. Personally now that I've gotten more familiar with creating no-coded AI apps I want to find a way to better apply this to my game development career (I run an online creative community but the creatives have been hesitant to adopt AI so hoping to help bridge this even if it's just for more top level tasks).
Oh yeah this'll be pretty direct:
5x productivity - when we used ChatGPT 3.5
10x productivity - when we upgraded to ChatGPT 4 (for our work this model was better)
25x productivity - when we took our processes and channeled them into a custom built ChatGPT no-coded app
50x productivity - when we onboarded the interns and had them running processes the next day
100x productivity - when we onboarded a VA (soon to be VAs) that help us make 10x what they cost (the reason for the major jump is the VAs using the app helps us to fix the app while we make revenue from the work the VAs do that we used to have to do mainly ourselves).
In summary the ability to create a "no-brainer" application for new remote people to join a process that pulls in 4 and 5 figure contracts while playing an active role in the pipeline within 3 days of training and after 2 weeks of training they're basically independent (next productivity booster will probably be amplifying on app training
or first use processes, but this'll come after we get a few more features added).
Not going to be able to go into too much detail, but as a whole I think anyone with a job that doesn't require expert level knowledge could do this. We have an opportunity that pays us per hour. We created an app that minimizes the time the person in charge needs to do the manual tasks. Instead someone with no experience can run the processes on the app based on instructions from the person in charge. That assistant let's the manager know when the processes have been run (essentially structuring data in a specific way using the AI's formatting). Then the leader only needs to spend a few hours (relatively) reviewing the output and giving feedback so the assistant can go re-run the AI. If you following our website https://newaiforlearning.com/ over the coming months you'll more about this processes, but right now we're a bit shy about explaining it because we built out AI app in a weekend so we need to build more defensibility around it before we can publicly share the full process (this is also because we're already growing revenue steadily on the back end so we have time to "aim" the app before launching, please note our form of revenue is non-recurring but we do get repeat customers on a near monthly basis).
Immediately we're going to keep running the AI enhanced process to grow our revenue. After that we're hoping to start releasing the app to users/customers in waves then over time do a more public release. To be honest we use AI almost everywhere in our company (financials, blogging, marketing, contract writing, etc) so there's very few places I see us adding new AI until AI with more specific outputs are released. In that system people start as a Copper Task Slayer then over time they rank up to Bronze then Silver and so on. At Silver is when we teach them how to use AI across multiple aspects of their life. As a Gold ranked slayer myself I have a 2 AI "Familiars" I use almost everyday - ChatGPT and Canva's AI.
I see a bunch of AI app businesses that focus on things that have already been done (and doing this can totally be a way to make money), but for me I'm focused more on how AI can help make an impact in the lives of people in the education industry. The only reason I was able to release the app so quickly and make a profit on it is because for the last year I've been talking to people in the education industry understanding what they're needs truly are and where their focuses are. These unique insights have led to language, processes, and insider knowledge that without the AI app probably wouldn't have "turned out so well" (for our business model).
For those that are interested the core business is DVNC but we run our educational processes under the DVNC Village where we make partnerships with varying entities to help diverse facilitators/instructors and learners reach outcomes. Over the last year we've helped launch at least 4 educational programs (2 for entrepreneurship, 1 for VR, and 1 for web dev) that have impacted about 800-1,000 diverse tech-curious learners and helped the companies we were supporting reach desired outcomes (funding, engagement, etc). As we go into the second half of 2023 we're seeing more and more each day how we can begin scaling this impact.
