Calling all designers and developers - you're needed!

Hi, I'm Mike, Co-founder at Budibase

As part of our roadmap at Budibase , we are building a web UI builder.

Makers will be able to able to produce a basic user interface, without needing to write code (although they will be able to sprinkle in some of their own custom code when required).

For this, we will need to create a suite of standard components - e.g. Text box, Select, Nav bars etc.

So, we could really do with a good web UI library to speed us up.

Our requirements are:

  • Must be plain HTML, CSS & JS - I.e. should be framework agnostic. By "framework" I mean React or Vue, for example
  • Must be themeable
  • Should probably be open source. Don't mind paying for it, but it will be distributed with Budibase - which is open source.
  • Should have a good theme ecosystem/marketplace

I have 2 for considerations so far: Material Design & Bootstrap. Both have great theme options.

Does anybody have:

  1. Any other suggestions
  2. Any opinions on using Material Design or Bootstrap

You're help is really appreciated.

Signup to Budibase, and we'll send you some SWAG when launched!

Cheers Indie Hackers, we appreciate the help and feedback. If there's anything we can do for you, please reach out.

I'd use Bootstrap for the responsive framework and Material for the UX. Check out:

I'm not sure what that means. I'm working with ant.design. It's been brilliant

very nice, haven't heard of this before. I love the simplicity of it.

I like bullma for its simplicity, lightweight and modularity. It seems to also be in the ballpark of your requirements.
