Hey everyone,
As a solo developer, I've been building a new SaaS product, and like many, I'm a big believer in usage-based pricing (UBP). It's fair, it scales, and it aligns value perfectly. However, actually implementing UBP is a massive headache. The engineering effort required for accurate metering, flexible billing logic, and transparent customer dashboards can easily derail a small team (or a solo dev like me!).
That's why I decided to build Usagey.com.
What is Usagey.com?
Usagey is a toolkit designed to take the pain out of implementing usage-based pricing. Think of it as a ready-to-use backend infrastructure for your UBP model. It handles:
Real-time Usage Metering: Accurately track every event (API calls, data processed, features used, etc.) at scale.
Flexible Billing Engine: Define complex pricing models with tiers, volume discounts, and hybrid plans without writing custom billing code.
Automated Invoicing: Generate invoices automatically based on actual usage.
Customer Dashboards: Provide your users with transparent, real-time insights into their consumption and costs.
API Key Management: Securely manage access to your metered services.
Essentially, Usagey exists so you don't have to spend months building non-differentiating billing infrastructure. It frees up your engineering time to focus on your core product, while still allowing you to leverage the power of usage-based pricing.
Why am I asking for your help?
I'm looking for developers, founders, or anyone interested in UBP to kick the tires on Usagey.com. I've poured a lot into it, but fresh eyes and diverse perspectives are invaluable.
What kind of feedback am I looking for?
Clarity: Is it clear what Usagey does and how it works?
Usability: Is the onboarding process smooth? Is the dashboard intuitive?
Features: Are there any critical features missing that you'd need for your UBP model?
Bugs: Found any unexpected behavior or errors?
General Impressions: Any thoughts, positive or negative, are welcome!

Thanks in advance for any time you can spare. Your feedback would be incredibly helpful as I continue to refine and improve Usagey!
