Can any freelancers give me some input?

Hey everybody! I have my own freelance business and I created a portal site where my clients can log in and have access to all of our contracts, invoices, important links, etc.

I decided to try and make it a product to see if other freelancers out there might find it useful too.

If anyone out there can give me some feedback on the idea I'd really appreciate it. I have ideas that I want to do to make it better (for my own business), but I'd love your ideas.

Hey, @smithgeek - forgive the quarantine hairstyle, and here you go:

I've thought about building something like this to replace spreadsheets many times but never got around to it so good luck with developing it.

I used to work on multiple concurrent projects for a customer. It's not clear to me from the demo whether your app supports that as I can't add a user to play around.

How would it look to the customer if they are linked to multiple projects and they log in? Can they easily see which projects have updates for them to review since they last logged in?

Task editing in a project would be nicer if there was edit link on each task to update the status rather than needing to scroll up to the edit link at the top.

      Thanks for the feedback!

I've added some more projects to the demo account for a couple of clients. I've also added a note explaining how you can log in as clients.

Currently, there isn't any indication of what projects have updates, but I like that idea.

Thanks for the share! Looks great.

We have this implemented in our administration software, although our customers rarely use it because the UX is bad. Your system looks clean and simple. M

    Some ideas:

    • Maybe figure out what the main thing is people do on a portal site like this and give them shortcuts like "download latest invoice"? The 80-20 rule will most probably apply here too.
    • You could open up an API for this and write integrations with the most used softwares, this is also a USP.

Good luck! Could you also help me out by giving some feedback? Thanks! https://www.indiehackers.com/post/validation-a-wireless-time-machine-backup-saas-3e3555e130

The concept seems nice and I tried the demo which looks great, mainly because it is minimal. Most of the times, clients don't have time to browse the features, they just want the thing, right at the time.

Maybe you should add help section / contact details section or just the details in the dashboard, so that clients can call or seek help when needed. The key is to make it simple for them to use.

Thanks for the comment! I agree that a help or contact section would be a great addition.
