Can Email Automation Happen with Gmail??

Got a potential issue. I have a possible user. The user has a list of email contacts that the user wants to send an email template to. The user uses gmail (or yahoo, etc) to perform their usual email.
Sending the emails manually might be onerous/a pain! Is there a better approach? The email might go to a subset of the user's contacts.

For my user/use case:
I think it would be cool/great if I had a way for a user to use my "app" as a frontside to be able to load their contacts, select the subset of contacts, and to then be able to fire off the emails to the given target users/contacts with the "fromEmailAddress" being coming from the user's "home" email address.
However, if I can't get the above solution, it would be mildly cool, if there was a way to "join" the different emails for the contacts, with complete:

to:
content..
for the multiple target users, and to somehow allow the user to dump all of this into the user's home email engine.. and have it spit out the different emails.. again, using the user's home email address..
I'm strongly suspecting that I'm going to have to bail, and allow/require the user to do the email/contact process on the user's home email, manually!
Again, I'd like to find an open source/free solution for some of this..

Everything in email automation has already been done. There is nothing new in this area. Which is great for building an indie SaaS.

I’m serious about it. I mean there are some innovations there but it is a crowded market. I never troll. Again, this is great tho, it’s a proven business.

Yeah I agree there is always more innovation. I’m 100% for the idea, it thinks it’s great. Apologies if I came off the wrong way. I’m still new to products.
