Can I compete with Firebase?

I'm an IT consultant/entrepreneur-wanna-be and I have built a few automation tools though the years. I'm considering releasing one of them as a SaaS project. It would be similar to Firebase, users could visually build a database, deploy it within the service and access it though a REST api. I'm currently trying to validate if this is a path worth following.

It would be great if any of you, specially if you have used Firebase or a similar service in your side projects, could give my some feedback and maybe answer a couple of questions:

• How was your overall experience with Firebase?
• Were there any pain points or things you thought could have been better?
• What would make you consider hypothetically switching to a new service? Better price? Different features? etc..

Bonus question: Have you surpassed their free quota and are now paying for the service?

I've been using my service for a while and it has been incredibly useful, but I'm really questioning myself if I have any chance of competing with such a giant in the area.
