Can I create your company's product promo video for ✨free✨?

Hey builders! 👋

My name is Heleana, and I run videodeck.co - a video production service for SaaS companies.

In 2022 we helped two growing startups by creating their explainer videos for free.

In 2023 we want to create 12 free videos for 12 amazing companies for ✨ free ✨ (about $3k in value/video)

We already gave one video away in January to one of the Saas companies that commented in our last post.

If you want to be part of this month's giveaway.

So if you want us to create a video for you for free this January, here's what you have to do:

  1. Drop a comment with:
  • The name of your Company/Project
  • Few words about your business
  • Other details that you might like us to consider
  1. Connect with me on Twitter; I'll DM you there if you win: https://twitter.com/HVideodeck

That's it!

We will choose the winner at the end of the month. 🏆

    Hey Heleana, here's my submission!

    • Project: ComplyDog
    • ComplyDog is a GDPR compliance and cookie banner solution for SaaS companies.
    • One-line pitch: GDPR compliance on easy mode for new SaaS startups.
    1. 1

This is so cool, do you plan on building a done-for-you type of service on it as well? We worked with a GDPR agency for a previous company and they charged a ton, pretty cool business.

      1. 1

Hey Heleana, thanks for the reply! Mostly building this as a piece of software to replace the current GDPR software service we're currently using for GrowSurf. Things like tracking GDPR tasks, managing subprocessors, and handling data requests -- stuff like tht!

We are building Viewsource.to - the best way for developers to make a portfolio site.

Most of the magic is by putting in a URL and Viewsource does the rest, taking the hard work out of making a portfolio, helping you tell your story of what you have built.

We are excited to get the word out and I am doing onboardings 1:1

This giveaway is a great idea for promoting your service. Hope I get selected :D

My company is ValidBot.com (https://www.validbot.com), which is a tool for web developers to test/monitor their websites for errors, speed, best practices, etc. It runs more than 100 automated tests to give your site a health score. It's sort of like Chrome Lighthouse, but with more extensive tests like DNS settings, SSL expiration date, favicons, robots.txt file, etc.

I went ahead and ran Videodeck through ValidBot. Here is the report:
    https://www.validbot.com/report/8d9005e57d508a780f3063e3e93017b02

It looks like you dont have any email DNS records setup for your domain, so if you send mail from videodeck.co you might want to look into that. Even if you dont send email, you should have these DNS records to prevent others from sending spam from your domain. There are also a few missing HTTP security headers, like HSTS and CSP that are recommended and easy to add.

Followed you on twitter. Here is mine: https://twitter.com/validbot1

Hey Heleana, thanks so much for this opportunity!

I'm building Tailkit which helps web developers design their web apps and marketing websites. It features fully responsive UI Components, Templates and Tools for Tailwind CSS based projects.

It would be great if you could produce an introduction/tutorial video for it 😍

Thanks once again and keep it up, you are doing great work! 👍

    1. 1

This looks awesome. How do you handle people wanting to use this coming from Webflow or Wordpress?

      1. 1

Thank you Heleana, really glad you like it! Tailkit is currently tailored mostly to help people with technical skills who need help with the design aspect in their custom coded project.

I'm still thinking of how it could provide value as a no/low-code solution for people coming from Webflow/Wordpress but this is something that might run alongside the main project in the future!

    Company - hirevire (hirevire.com)

    Screening automation Micro-SaaS

About - Welcome to the modern way of screening candidates.
Applying for jobs has become too easy.
You get a lot of applicants who aren’t serious about your job at all.
They don’t show up to interviews. They don’t truly want the job. They aren’t serious about the interview process or motivated to get serious about the work.
One thing that solves this problem - and it involves putting a little bit of friction in the application process.
Save atleast an hour every month by setting up a one way screening interview.
You can give your candidates the pitch for the position and your company, in a video on this page.
Ask the same questions you would ask on the virtual or phone screening rounds.

Hey Heleana, thanks for "donating" your time and helping others.

Would you consider recording a promo video for SaaSHub? It's a software products marketplace helping people find the best alternatives.

  20. 1

Hey Heleana, this is awesome - and I've been meaning to update the demo video on the site :)

I'm building Criteria, to help companies ship better designed API products - think "Figma for APIs".

I just followed you on Twitter it’s @mans_js

Obviously down for this :) I'm building Stylized to help e-commerce sellers with silo and editorial photography using 3D modeling and AI!

Fun bit might be that we have a near infinite number of high quality assets we could use in a video :)

  23. 1

This is so cool Heleana. I am building Geeks and Experts. We want to make 1:1 coffee chats more convenient and contextual - so instead of relying on warm intros or cold DMs you can just book a pick your brain session with experts!

    1. 2

The link seems broken. How can I get myself onto your site as an expert for software development? Feel free to send me an email, too.

      1. 2

Thanks for notifying me about that, Niklas. You can create a profile after signing up and we should be able to verify and activate it in a few days. You can start scheduling sessions after that.

        1. 2

Thank you, the link works now!

Please allow me to ask some questions that I did not find an answer to on your site:

          • What's the monetization model? Do I pay to be listed as an expert, or do you take a cut of all calls booked? If so, how much?
          • What's the verification process? How much time will it take me to complete it?
          1. 2

Hey thanks for the questions. I will add it to the list of items we should include in our homepage.

            • There is a 5% commission or $2 minimum per session. No signup fees or subscriptions.
-It will take 2 - 3 days once you have submitted your profile, and added all the necessary details, including bio and availability.
            1. 2

Thanks for explaining and sorry for the delay in getting back to you!

              The fees seem reasonable.

Since we talked last, my coaching client list has filled up and I don't have availability to take others on. I'll keep your platform in mind for the future if that changes.

The submission process seems too complicated to me though (which is why I didn't start it). If I am good at what I do, I get enough clients anyway to not have to jump through the hoops of getting approved.

Thanks again for your helpful explanations!

              1. 2

Fair enough, Niklas. Please feel free to reach out when it's a good fit.

Unfortunately, we feel the need to sieve some applications that are not completed properly or are lacking authentic information so that we can better serve our users who have to spend less time verifying the professionals.

However, I understand if that's too complicated and you'd prefer not to do so.

All the best with the coaching and have a great weekend.

                1. 2

Makes sense from your point of view. You might be losing out on some of the best coaches though if they see a long application process. Maybe do manual outreach to some of them and create their profiles for them.

                  1. 2

Great idea and yes, we plan to start offering that as a part of the onboarding.

  24. 1

Hey Heleana, love the videos! And thanks for doing this :)

    • Vokal.co
    • Create videos with waveforms and subtitles for audio of your podcast, radio show, and music. Share it on any social media platform and engage more.
    1. 2

This looks amazing! I just signed up. We are actually looking for something like this for ourselves. We'll definitely keep you in mind.

I feel like I saw this on ProductHunt too recently, did you launch there?

      1. 1

Thank you :) Yes I did launch it on Producthunt a couple of months ago!

  25. 1

Oh, btw, it doesn't have to be a promo video. We can also create a sales pitch video, how-to, tutorial or maybe just a video to kickstart your YouTube presence. Whatever works for you!
