It’s just me, some friends and a soon to be beta release. I’ve spent some money on the project but not a ton. I went though legal zoom to get incorporated and got referred to 1800accountants. They cost over 2k for the first year. Is it worth it? Find someone else? Do it on my own?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
You can do your own bookkeeping using something like Quickbooks. If you are pre-revenue it would just to download credit card and bank transactions into it. You might want to refer to an accountant for setting up QB and to file taxes. Most CPAs can take your QB and prepare their info for tax filing and all. If you are using any payroll service they will file payroll tax and all for you.
My advice: be a professional/expert in your niche. Don't get into accounting. It will take you more time than you expect.
