Can I get feedback on my landing page? Virtual offices for remote teams

https://www.getvocal.app

Remote work is lonely and its so hard to foster strong working relationships, especially as a new-hire or early-in-career. I made Vocal to change that!

Very clean design and to the point. I like it.
Some details are missing. Like :

    • Contact us, about us. Very important. Helps to earn your visitors trust.
    • More screenshots or a short video of the app.
    • Pricing. Cleary its Free for now but let your visitors know right away with a catchy section. If you plan to add a nice and clear pricing table.

Btw app also looks nice. I sign up at wail list.

Thanks for the feedback! I definitely want to add more pages, but I'm just a one-man show for now. I put our email address and company information around the website, which hopefully verifies some amount of legitimacy. We are a legally registered business :).

secondly this might be good for new hires, but as an experienced engineer, no i do not want to spend my entire day infront of a webcam. Just so a fresh hire can shadow me constantly.

Id rather give them pointed problems and solutions so they can learn and grow. And usually a new hire is only a "new hire" for 1-2 months. After that, do they stop using this app? It needs to help everyone on the team.

I cant do everything on cam. This is a total breach of privacy if im on cam 24/7.

    1. 2

Great points! You have the option to spend as much or as little time on camera as you want, and be in whichever room you want with whoever you want. You have total control over how much time you spend with your new hire. Vocal just makes it easier to engage when you want to engage.

I haven’t added the feature yet, but you will also have the option to go into your private office and close the door.

Also, its still better than being in person where many companies are transitioning to open floor plans.

      1. 2

interesting, definitely a cool concept. Im just being critical , as I would hope for the same feedback.

okay im glad there are controls to prevent abuse. As a senior dev , I get poked all the time on slack and its come to a point where i just snooze my notifications quite frequently. And its not junior devs either, its usually PMs micromanaging.

thanks for the thoughtful response :)

I greatly appreciate your feedback :); its constructive and that's all I can ask for.

i love the WHITE SPACE. Visually, I think it looks great. I might suggest to improve some of the load times. I understand the animation effect, but sometimes, I felt the load was too long and appeared more like a lag.

I agree with @thekinglaolu that the first product image could be more exciting. Maybe a video demo would be better.

    1. 2

Thanks for the feedback! I checked out Sidekick and think its really cool. Your lander is great!

Hope 50 commentators around me will not hit 20 downvotes, but it makes little sense to change the landing page based on feedback from random people outside your customer group. And unless you close 20 sales, you don't have to worry about your landing page. You'll hardly exceed 50 daily visitors in the next 6 months.

I regularly get SaaS to 12K ARR in 3 months and we don't use the landing page to land sales. Explained the full funnel here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wi6eCV8xAH8&t=1s

    (ps, add a product demo)

    1. 1

This sounds interesting. Thanks for sharing

Not commenting on the feedback but more on the business: I think you can raise prices (and maybe niche value-adds that target your potential clients). Enterprise customers expects to pay for the services and it's easily a tax write-off, so you can charge more. The only thing holding you back is competition but since you control your product, you can easily tailor to specific set of clients/industry. The megatechs (MSFT, Google, Slack...) won't be able to tailor those clients because of their policy on generalization.

    1. 1

I really appreciate this feedback. Do you have any brainstorm ideas for what niche services enterprise customers might be interested in? As we continue development, I'll be talking to more and more customers, and hopefully learning more about the niche.

Also curious what you think our pricing should be? I just put pricing up.

      1. 1

just thinking out loud... kind of like stackoverflow is an application of stack exchange. what you provide is like a stack exchange right now. but you might benefit from targeting like... say local chain restaurants? or ... something small enough that megatech aren't interested in customizing for but large enough for you to be profitable

    Hey,

The animations are really good, the design is also amazing.

But, why dont you show some more screenshots of the app? that would be amazing in my opinion.

Also, didnt like the hover effect of the pricing table :(

    1. 1

Thanks for the feedback! I'm working on screenshots, although the app is really simple now so there isn't too much to show yet.

  7. 2

    Hello, Chris

I really love how it looks. It's very clean, simplistic, yet functional and useful.

I like the animation where the items slowly appear, but it's a bit slow for me (it's hard to know whether there is more information bellow). That's one thing I'll change.

    Good luck!

    1. 2

Thank you for the feedback. I've been getting the animation feedback constantly, so I'll do my best to improve it.

      1. 1

Wish you all the best :)

    Hey!

    1. I love the "Say goodbye to Zoom fatigue." - great catchline!
    2. Only the hero loads on page for me, and I can't see the rest until I scroll, which makes the navigation a bit weird
    3. "Beta" doesn't inspire confidence - I'd try "Get started" right away.
    4. "Virtual offices with video and voice rooms, for remote teams" -> The copywriting is too much description imho -> "Create your own virtual offices with video and voice rooms to enlighten remote work".
    5. I'd ad a review and/or a personal statement before the "What makes Vocal special?" ie. either reviews on how Vocals help - or a statement explaining what is Zoom fatigue and how it can be fought.
      Have a great day!
    1. 1

This is all great feedback. Feedback #3 is interesting. I had "Get Started" at first, but someone suggested I do "Try the Beta." I'll change it back when we're out of private beta.

For #5, please sign up for the app and give a review :). I definitely need help there.

      Thanks again for your feedback!

    • Under how it works, when I click "Create a free account", the steps move up or down. I think this is because of the different sizes of images for each step.
    • If I don't read "What makes Vocal special" section, then I don't know what I am really getting this for. I would add a section on the benefits of using this app.
    1. 2

Thanks for the feedback! This will definitely get better as we talk to more customers.

  10. 2

    I'm using chrome on android

    • Hamburger menu doesn't work
    • The animations make it slightly harder to read. I scrolled and just saw a blank screen until the content faded in
    • Maybe instead of "Get Started", make it more specific. Perhaps "Try Our Beta"
    1. 1

Maybe instead of "Get Started", make it more specific. Perhaps "Try Our Beta"

Love this suggestion. Will be interesting to see how well it converts.

  11. 2

Opened on a 13" laptop. I think the landing page looks good, I like the style and the animations look smooth and modern.

  12. 2
    • The hamburger menu button is broken. The icon transitions but the menu does not show up.
    • The iOS and Android icons are too big in my opinion.
    • The footer company info is all in one line. Personally, I think multi-paragraph footers are more visually pleasing.

    I am on Firefox iOS.

    1. 1

Thanks for the feedback! I'll do my best to incorporate it.

  13. 2

I think one main question that comes to my head, which would be good to address is how is this different from slack or MS Teams? since effectively you're competing with those platforms, and they also have audio + video

    1. 2

Slack and Teams are chat-first apps that have audio/video meeting capabilities. Vocal is a voice-first app with virtual offices and rooms. I envision it becoming the communications Metaverse for business (minus the gimmicky 3D avatars and gamification, at least for now).

      1. 2

ah I see I see , thats very cool. Sort of like Clubhouse but for enterprises? I think the main landing page has a picture of a video conference, thats why most of my questions were around that. Could be good to focus on the voice-first part more.

plus imo the page title could be better aligned to this market differentiator aswell, because currently its : Virtual offices with video and voice rooms, for remote teams. Which doesnt put an emphasis on the voice part .

        1. 1

Yep, kinda like "Clubhouse for business." Thank you for the feedback; I'm honing in on the copy :).

  14. 2

For me the landing page looks good

  15. 2

It's nice and straight to the point. But for some reason, nothing happens when I click on the navbar icon at the top right (I'm using an Android phone)

    1. 1

      Thank you for the feedback!

  16. 2

Like the design! I would make the header your subtitle. It states what the product is.

For the header, I would use something that pushes an emotional benefit or solves a pain point. Trying to think of something as a suggestion....

    1. 2

I’ve been playing around with a few ideas:

      “Say goodbye to Zoom fatigue.”
      “Work smarter, not harder.”
      “Foster deeper working relationships remotely.”
      “Better communication. Better collaboration.”
“Remote work doesn’t have to feel so remote.”
“Bringing back the workplace coffee chat.”

      1. 2

I like #1 and #5, would def stay away from something like #2, it's too broad, could be any saas.

      2. 1

I like Remote work doesn't have to feel so remote.

It perfectly attaches emotions to what you are trying to do.

  17. 2

Looking very neat.. but one thing that seems to be missing is the pricing details.
Like is it a free product? Is it paid? if paid how much?

    1. 1

Its free for now. Will add pricing when we get to public beta. :) Currently thinking free for up to 10 users (logged in at the same time) per office and you can own 1 office. Professional accounts will be up to 100 users per office and maybe up to 5 offices. Enterprise accounts will have custom pricing.

  18. 2

    Looks good.

Have you played with a single-sentence tagline?

Something like "Free video and voice rooms for remote teams"

    1. 1

Thanks for the suggestion! I've been playing around with a lot of different copy, but its so hard to pick one and stick with it.

  19. 2

Hi Chris (nice name 😉)! Very clean landing page, I like it. Here's some things I'm thinking about:

    1. As others have mentioned it feels a bit weird that I need to scroll to see the image of the product. Also, a video would be more helpful to understand how the software works.
    2. "Simple, yet powerful" is vague. I think you have a great opportunity here to sell the product and its features with a more informative heading.
    3. The "Start now" button besides "Simple, yet powerful" would be better placed below that section. Since I'm in "scrolling mode" I'm not looking to the right so it's easy to miss it.
    4. I checked the "Request Access" page as well and the "Public Beta Availability" and "Full Release" are mailto and tel links.
    1. 1

Haha, thank you thank you. I completely replaced the term "Simple, yet powerful" with "What makes Vocal special?" and also removed the "start now" button. What do you think of that?

Also, good catch on the links! Fixed that!

      1. 2

I think your message comes across much better now.

  20. 1

Love the minimal design. The site is the perfect amount of bare that it encourages scrolling.

As a few others have mentioned I would add a product demo. Right below the hero (fold).

  21. 1

It was slow loading the first time. Did not like the hover effect. Pricing is per user?

  22. 1

I love the minimalistic design, cool! On what platform did you make the landing?

The hamburger menu didn't expand for me. Otherwise, looks great! 😃

    1. 2

yep i had a similar issue with the hamburger menu in mobile view when i replicated it in chrome

funny enough i actually wrote a blog post about this :) - Make a WebApp Slider Menu in 2 mins - All JS frameworks ,
      https://dev.to/ahmad_butt_faa7e5cc876ea7/make-a-webapp-slider-menu-in-2-mins-all-js-frameworks-41ki

      1. 2

I love this blog post. Its short and sweet, and gets the job done. There are really no pages to navigate to from the hamburger menu, so I just removed it. Might have some pages to add later on.

        1. 1

thank you so much for your kind words :)

  24. 1

What do you think of the landing page?

    1. 2

I like how clean and minimal it is. My main feedback would be to think about getting the product image into the hero space. On full-width browser on my MBP 14-inch, it's appearing below the fold. The nice thing is it did encourage me to scroll down a bit, but it left a strangely incomplete feel to the initial landing.

      1. 1

This is great feedback! I just updated it. Is it better now?

        1. 2

          Looking like <chefskiss.gif> :)

    2. 2

Hi Chris, pretty clean LP you've got there. So here are a few things I think you could improve upon:

      1. The product image within the header doesn't show up on-load so the page feels quite empty and I'm not sure what next to do (well, except for muscle memory that says to scroll on every website). It's great that the product image peeks out a bit serving as a pointer to scroll cos there's more content below but having it load up on-load rather than on-scroll will be a better experience.

      2. Following that, if you'd want to include a shot of the product on the header, you might as well use it to tell a bit more of the product's story. Looking at the screenshot it just feels bland and I'm not sure what I'm looking at except for the copy above it. I'm not sure if that's clear enough but maybe take a cue from these guys https://motionapp.com

      3. I'm not sure if it's just me but the "start now" button beside "Simple, yet powerful" doesn't seem to work.

      1. 1

Motion app looks super colorful and cool. I'm not that artsy, but I'm trying :)! Thanks for all the feedback! I've incorporated what I can into the website. What do you think?

Do you want to use computer pc games or software on an Android device, if you want Hungry Shark Mod Apk to download it absolutely for free

With a <a href="https://www.terraproxx.com/photo-organizer-software/">photo organizing software</a> photo finder running on your system, you will be able to find duplicate photos with ease. The reasons you might want to find duplicate photos are, of course, varied. For some, it will be because they want to delete duplicate photos to free up memory. Others will want to remove duplicate photos because doing so makes images they are working on in post-production that much easier to find.

Yes, of course, same here. Give me feedback on it also. https://topratedapk.com
